The only drawback I do not like is that upon changing dryer settings, the setting gears grind from one setting to another. You should be able to push the knob in and turn to your selected setting. I'm not sure how long that knob will put up with that!

Dryer works great. I wish I didn't have to clean the lint trap before removing the laundry. Otherwise lint gets on the laundry.

Starter button does not work on washing machine. Waited 3 weeks for service then they did not bring the part after we explained the problem and they said they were ordering the part. Must wait now even longer for parts. Very disappointed in product.

I was happy to see my 7 yr old space age looking GE washer leave! I never liked that machine. All kinds of problems with it. The local appliance dealer recommended Speed Queen. I couldn't be happier. I have had it for a little over a month and it is a SOLID machine. No thrashing around and wash cycle is a lot shorter than the GE.
It is a little noisy when the wash cycle starts but that doesn't bother me at all. The clothes come out cleaner.
There is a whole lot to be said about the "old style" washer machine with an agitator. It works better than the fancy space age looking models. I am glad to get back to the basics. And happy to have a made in America product !

I am not happy with my new Speed Queen washer and dryer. The washer is extremely loud and disturbing. There is no way to select how much water is used in a cycle and the speed settings are confusing. One setting is marked Regular/Delicate. Now, in my world, these two speeds are anathema. The washer does give a nice little "ding" when the load is finished which is very nice.
The dryer, on the other hand, has a very loud, obnoxious buzz when it's finished, even on the lowest setting. There seems to be no sensor that tells you about how dry your clothes are and the cool down starts way before the clothes are dry. The buzzer goes off before the clothes are dry. I hate this.
I wish I had my Maytags back.

This is my second speed queen dryer my first one I had to leave behind when I sold my house. I didn't even think of replacing it with any other brand. My only disappointment in the new one is the old dryer had a guard over the lint trap this one does not so lint gets on the clothes that go over the trap when you open the door.

I own a Speed Queen washer and love it. Since my old dryer (another brand) was taking 2 cycles to fully dry, I decided to buy a Speed Queen dryer. It does dry faster than my old one. However, if I use the Automatic Cycles to dry towels, it will turn off with the towels still very wet....everytime. So, I use the timer on the longest timed setting and, even then, towels have to be turned back on for another 20-30 minutes if it's a large load. Apparently, it's this way for all brands of dryers. Hard to keep up with the laundry of a big family!! One other thing that is REALLY annoying is the placement of the lint trap. I wanted a lint trap in the door (as opposed to on top). However, this one has the lint facing up and it's open on the top. So, everytime I open the dryer door, the clothes that are lying against the door fall onto the lint trap and lint sticks to the clothes badly....before I even have a chance to clean it out. I've had another brand of dryer before that had the lint trap in the door but it was designed differently and I never had that problem. Speed Queen, please take note and fix that design!

Thank goodness this appliance is back and available. I had a new large "top" name brand that took forever to do one load. I faithfully used cleaning product recommended yet when I'd do a dark load I could still see much lint on the clothes! I especially like that this has an agitator and is saving me time and money!

This machine was well worth waiting for! We wanted the ability to open the lid without shutting off the unit. We wanted a cycle that didn't take 55 min to complete! This machine does it all and is thorough and quiet!
